About
Hi, my name is Colton Nelson. I am an aspiring photographer, who also works as a Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor at our local pool in the small town of Beaumont, Alberta. I've always loved taking photos, and admiring the work of other photographers. I got my first camera when I was 5 years old, a Kodak CX7300, as a gift from my parents. I used the camera on and off for a few years, learning from my dad, who would occasionally let me use his camera, a Minolta film SLR. It wasn't until I was 14 that I got my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel T3i. At the time, it was one of the best low cost, introductory consumer cameras. I mostly took pictures of landscapes, and other objects that didn't move. It wasn't until I was 19, when I volunteered to run a photo booth at an event, that I decided I wanted to pursue a business in photography.
Goal
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a photograph is worth a million. My goal is to capture photographs that tell a story and show emotion, and that no mater how many times you look at it, the memories and feelings will never fade.
Pricing
Prices are a tricky topic. The needs, expectations, and corresponding steps that I need to go through vary depending on the shoot. Because of this I cannot give an exact price until the desired outcome is discussed. If you are interested in letting me work with you, please send me a message and we can discuss your ideas and together we can come up with an arrangement that works.
